On the side that more expensive headers are over priced and for the amount of horse power they offer it isn't worth it. Some argue that instead of spending 1000 dollars on a great header you can buy a few different things and get better power. Spending 300 dollars on a replica header and another 700 on a nice nitrous kit with grant you more power. Obviously it would. A really good header only helps flow better and makes minimal horse power compared to a replica and nitrous system that lets you tap into 100 horse power at will.

On the other head, going with a great header has plenty of benefits. It offers you a better flowing system, and for those with head work it will prove to be better than going for a replica. A great header is made so that there is no interference on exhaust gases leaving the exhaust header. Some cheaper headers aren't smooth and have bumps in the pipes that cause minor turbulence. These bumps and knicks in the pipes cause interference in the pipes back pressure and provide a less smooth exhaust gas exit from the muffler.
